Sketches and plans help photographers view composition, framing, and design, helping them to visualise and make decisions about what they create before the shoot
By planning out before, you reduce trial and error and can use your time more productively
Plans can look like what the camera will view (top right) or they may look like an aerial view with notes on lighting and backgrounds (bottom right)
Don't worry about being a good drawer or artist, this plan is to help you create your final work.
Contact sheets quickly overview images, aiding photographers in efficient selection and organisation.
Contact sheets assist in identifying standout shots, streamlining the editing process.
If you have less than ten photos, you could display them larger on your website instead of contact sheets
Even with contact sheets, you could display your standout shots larger with some dot points to explain why they are the best
Noting camera settings helps you achieve consistency in replicating successful photographs reliably
Camera settings show that you are learning how a camera functions
You can check your camera settings but going to the documents folder that your image is stored in, selecting the individual photo file, right click > Properties > Details and they should be displayed
Capturing before and after edits documents creative progress for learning. It helps you to show what you have done to your teacher and helps you understand how to replicate processes in the future.
