Across Q3, you participated in class projects related to areas that Photography has gained meaning from throughout history (Art, Technology, Pop Culture & Money). You will now choose one of these categories and expand on it further by developing a photo series in response to one of these areas. In this task, you will develop your plan by researching a creator that has created work related to your chosen area of Photography. Some inspiration can be found here and you can also do your own research. You will use the AIMME structure to analyse this artist / photographer's work. Your final photo series should be five individual photos or at least three final images where two or more photographs have contributed to the final result (example movie poster or advertisement). This task is to develop a plan for your final series which will do one of the following:
Recreate your inspirational creator’s work but bring some form of new meaning in your recreation as you develop it for a different audience.
Take inspiration from your creator’s work but develop your own idea related to their work and the Photography area you have chosen.
An explanation of the Photographic area you have chosen and how it relates to meaning in photography (at least one paragraph)
An analysis of one creator’s work that relates to the chosen area, using the AIMME framework
An explanation of what you intend to create for your photo series, using the AIMME framework
At least one visual element to help convey your idea (mood board, layout plan, Coggle brainstorm). Mood boards should include 5 or more photos.
A timeline of how you will complete the practical part of the task
Your ability to analyse how meaning is created in photographic works related to your chosen area
Your ability to analyse the elements in the AIMME framework to better understand your inspirational artist / photographers work
Your ability to develop a plan that shows understanding of how context changes meaning and the meaning you will develop through your own work
Your ability to communicate clearly, using persuasive written and visual communication to convey your key ideas
Your ability to engage in independent research and discourse, summarising and presenting findings with academic integrity by appropriately APA referencing intellectual property that is not your own
For extra information on how you will be marked, see the rubric provided on Google classroom.
