Adductor pollicis m

One of the three thenar muscles, the aductor pollicis originates from carpal and metacarpal bones and inserts  into the base of the proximal phalanx of the thumb.  Its action is to adduct the thumb, and it is inneravted (as are all the thenar muscles) by the recurrent median n.
