The adductor magnus muscle is located deep in the medial compartment of the thigh originating on the pubis and ischial tuberosity and inserting along the linea aspera of the femur followed by a gap and then a tendon which inserts on the adductor tubercle of the femur. The femoral artery and vein pass through this gap.
Action: Adducts the hip (some medial rotation)
Innervation: Obturator n.
Origin: Pubis and ischial tuberosity
Insertion: Linea aspera and the adductor tubercle of the femur
