A large dural fold that separates the occipital lobes of the cerebrum from the cerebellum. The tentorium cerebelli attaches posteriorly to the occipital bone, and anteriorly to the petrous part of the temporal bone. The transverse sinuses run along the posterior border of the tentorium cerebelli, and the superior petrosal sinuses run along the anterior border of the tentorium cerebelli. The midbrain passes through a mid-line opening in the tentorium cerebelli, the tentorial incisure.
