The levator veli palatine m. is one of a pair of muslces that acts on the soft palate. The levator veli palatine m. attaches from the temporal bone and the eustachian tube, and inserts into the soft palate. Its action is to draw the soft palate superiorly as part of the swallowing reflex. It is innervated by a branch of the Vagus n.
