Dorsal interossei muscles (foot)

The dorsal interossei can be visualized on the dorsal surface of the foot, underneath the tendons of the extensor digitorum  longus m. and brevis m.

Action: Abducts digits 2-5

Innervation: Lateral plantar n.

Origin: Metatarsals 1-5

Insertion: Proximal phalanges of digits 2-4
