The pectineus muscle is a small muscle lcoated on the anterior and medial aspect of the thigh. It originates on the pubic ramus and inserts on the femur, giving it the action of adduction and flexion of the hip joint.
This muscle is innervated by the femoral nerve in most cases, but sometimes is innervated by the obturator nerve (20%).
Action: Adducts the hip (some hip flexion)

Origin: Pubic ramus
Insertion: Femur
