Middle concha

The middle concha is one of the scroll-like bones that is covered with nasal epithelium and increases the surface area of the nasal cavity, thus facilitating the warming, humidifying, and filtering function of the upper airway.  The middle nasal concha is an extension of the ethmoid bone.
