Sigmoid sinuses

The sigmoid sinuses are paired dural venous sinuses that are the continuations of the transverse sinuses.  They follow a torturous course along the parietal, temporal, and occipital bones, and terminate at the jugular foramen of the occipital bone where they become the internal jugular veins.
