One of the extrinsic ocular muscles, the inferior oblique is innervated by the oculomotor n. (CN III), and attaches from the maxillary bone to the lateral surface of the eyeball. Its primary action is extorsion (rotates the top of the eye away from the nose); secondary action is elevation; tertiary action is abduction
