Diaphragma sellae

The diaphragma sellae is a circular region of dura mater that covers most of the roof of the sella turcica, enclosing the pituitary within that space.  There is a hole in the center of the diaphragma sellae that allows the pituitary stalk (infundibulum) to communicate with the pituitary gland.
