Salpingopharyngeus m

A thin muscle that attaches superiorly to the medial, cartilagenous part of the pharyngotympanic tube and then descends, mixing with the fibers of the palatopharyngeus m., finally attaching to the upper part of the thyroid cartilage.  It is innervated by the vagus n. (CN X), and its action is to elevate the larynx.
