If the banjo is among the instruments you play, this may be of interest. If not, please forward to anyone you feel may like to attend a banjo workshop with Keith Arneson, the successor to Bill Emerson in The US Navy Band "Cross Currents". After 24 years with "Cross Currents", Keith recently retired and re-united with former bandmates, including Wayne Taylor.
Keith will be teaching TWO banjo workshops this Saturday at my place in Silver Spring MD. The first workshop (2-4pm) is on 3-finger/Scruggs-style techniques for intermediate and advanced players. The second workshop (4-6pm) is on Old-Time/clawhammer-style techniques for players of all levels.
I have the honor of being the host for the workshops but do this pro bono as my way of supporting the music I enjoy and the many talented musicians in the Greater Washington Area.
Cost for either 2-hour workshop: $40
Cost for both workshops: $60
Keith encourages folks to bring an audio or video recorder for review at home after the workshops.
Please RSVP directly to Keith at banjoitis123@yahoo.com to let him know if you're planning to attend one or both workshops.
