Fuel Your Soul with An Evening of Lenten Prayer & Reflection

Please join us for a light meal followed by an evening of prayer and reflection. Our guest speaker, Judy Ribar, will lead us as we prepare to journey through the Lord’s passion and ultimate Resurrection. The evening will take place in Visitation Hall.

The Lenten Tree is an annual gift-giving event which invites the parish to express appreciation to our retired religious for their service and commitment to the Catholic Church. Families purchase personal care items which are given to show our love to over 400 religious from various organizations, including the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Ursuline Sisters of Mount St. Joseph in Owensboro, KY.
The Lenten Tree will be set up in the gathering space starting on Saturday, March 12th. The crosses share a wish list from each religious organization/home. Please consider taking a cross from the tree and purchasing a few of the items listed. Return all items in a bag/box with the cross securely attached no later than NOON, Sunday, March 27, 2022.

The Piarist community is in a very poor area of Appalachia. They accept most kinds of donations but particularly need cleaning supplies currently. As you clean out your home for Lent, please set aside all goods you no longer need so someone else has a chance to re-use them. Remember, anything you would use on a daily basis, they could also use. Various support groups are offered throughout the year that allow those struggling an opportunity to come together in love and support. Some of the groups offered are grief support groups, including GRASP which is specifically for those who have lost a loved one to Substance Abuse Disorder, Divorce Groups, Divorce Groups for children, and groups for adults who have children struggling with mental health issues. In addition, social support groups for those who have lost a spouse meets once a month for a short meeting and dinner at a local restaurant Feel free to share with other family and friends as well. The NAMI Family to Family Support Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month from 7 - 8:15pm at St. Albert in the Parish Life Complex. The group provides a safe space for family and friends of people with mental health conditions to discuss their loved ones mental health while receiving knowledge, encouragement and support. St. Albert the Great will begin hosting a monthly Hope & Healing support group. If you have lost a loved one from any type of substance use, please come and connect with others journeying through the same type of loss. The group meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Parish Life Complex from 6:30 to 8:00pm. Feel free to share with other family and friends as well. Kids of any age can enter our naming contest for the new playground climbing dragon. Entry slips can be found next to the dragon in the church gathering space through this weekend. Let's see how creative we are!
Construction has begun on the St. Albert Island!
The themed playground features a Viking ship, palm trees, and a climb on sea dragon. It includes equipment sized for both big kids and little kids, shaded areas and fencing. In addition, there will be a separate Preschool playground for our little ones.
Construction will last around 6 weeks, weather dependent.
Installed on a poured-in rubber surface for added safety.
Grand opening expected middle to late April!
Please avoid the construction site area.
The Archdiocese of Louisville joyfully invites Catholics throughout the Archdiocese to attend the Mass of Installation for the Most Reverend Shelton J. Fabre on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
The Mass will be followed by a public reception. These events will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center (KICC). The Mass will be held in the Ballroom and the reception in the lobby, all on the main floor of the KICC. Doors to the ballroom will open at 12:45 p.m. Parking is available at the Commonwealth (313 South 4th Street) and Cowger (329 West Market Street) Parking Garages. Chrism Mass
All are invited to attend the Chrism Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Fabre on Tuesday evening, April 12th at 7:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Assumption (433 S 5th St.). At this liturgy, the Holy Oils which will be used throughout the archdiocese in the coming year are blessed and consecrated by the archbishop. In addition, the priests of the archdiocese will renew their priestly promises. A reception will follow in the undercroft. Please join us for this beautiful celebration of the local Church.
