WORSHIP

2023 Catholic Campaign for Human Development

On November 18-19, our parish will take up a collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. More than 37 million people in the United States live in poverty. This collection supports programs that empower people to identify and address the obstacles they face in bringing permanent and positive change to their communities. In addition, 25% of the donations stay here in the Archdiocese of Louisville to fund anti-poverty programs throughout our 24 counties. Learn more about the Catholic Campaign for Human Development at www.usccb.org/cchd.

Voces Novae Concert

Sunday, November 19th, 2023
3:00 PM at St. Albert the Great Church

Voces Novae Celebrates 30th Season with Icons of the Last 30 Years Concert!

Voces Novae, a semi-professional choral ensemble of musicians across Louisville and Southern Indiana, is delighted to announce its 30th-season kick-off concert, "Icons of the Last 30 Years." The event will take place on Sunday, November 19th, 2023, at 3:00 PM at St. Albert the Great Church.

Under the direction of Angela Vaughn Hampton, Voces Novae has consistently pushed the boundaries of choral music. This landmark concert will focus on choral icons of the last 30 years, including composers like Eric Whitacre, Moses Hogan, Elaine Hagenberg, René Clausen, and Z. Randall Stroope. Expect iconic pieces as well as compositions that will be new experiences for many audience members.

“This concert has been fun for me to plan because my professional conducting career is just about the same time frame of the music we are singing,” says Angela Vaughn Hampton, Artistic Director of Voces Novae. “The composers in this concert have shaped choral music over the past 3 decades, as well as my own career.  I am particularly excited about the pieces that are new to me in this concert -- Wild Forces by Jake Runestad, We Remember Them by Susan LaBarr, and The Music of Living by Dan Forrest.”

Voces Novae has been heralded as "one of Louisville's most treasured musical institutions" by The Courier-Journal. In 2021, Angela Vaughn Hampton was named the Most Admired Woman in the Arts by Today's Woman. Past performances include collaborations with the Louisville Orchestra and an appearance this summer in London for the UK premiere of Elaine Hagenberg's Illuminare.

As thanks to St. Albert the Great Church for being our host, Voces Novae would like to offer a reduced $10/ticket rate to church members. To purchase tickets, please visit vocesnovaelouisville.com.
