Special Collection: Opportunities for Life

This weekend the four Kentucky dioceses will take up a collection as part of the Kentucky bishops' unified message advocating for a pro-life culture in our Commonwealth. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, funds from this collection will provide resources to pregnant women and new families in crisis, including services through Walking With Moms In Need groups in many parishes and the Lifeline Fund maintained by Catholic Charities.

Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, January 28 – February 3. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2024 is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.”

Baptism

Our next Baptisms will be held on Sundays, February 11th and April 7th after Mass at noon, with the Parent Preparation class on Thursdays, February 1st and March 14th from 6:30-8:00pm in church. Vacation Bible School

SAVE THE DATE! Vacation Bible School will be held June 25th-June 28th from 9:00am-12:00pm. VBS is open to all children in the parish age 4 years old to children who will be entering the 5th grade.

Retrouvaille 

Thinking about Separation or Divorce? – Do you know how to save that marriage? Or do you feel helpless? 


Retrouvaille (pronounced retro-vi with a long i) has helped tens of thousands of couples at all stages of disillusionment in their marriage. This program can help you too. NAMI Family Support Group

The group provides a safe space for family and friends of people with mental health conditions to discuss their loved ones mental health while receiving knowledge, encouragement and support. Special Disciples of Jesus Mass

We invite all Special Needs family and friends to St. Margaret Mary on Sunday, January 21 at 3pm. Just come as you are!  Your family will be welcomed with open arms and will hopefully meet other families in similar situations. The Mass will be shorter and geared towards our children. We hope to foster a Catholic community here with fellowship following Mass, so stick around to meet other families and kids. A light reception will follow. In this weekend's Gospel, Jesus says: “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” As disciples, we are called to continue God’s work on earth. Taking care of God’s poor is indeed living gospel values.

Red Cross Blood Drive

The Social Concerns Team are sponsoring our quarterly Red Cross blood drive in the Parish Life Complex on Sunday 3/17/23. Appointments are recommended but not required. For appointments, please call Mary Jo Bird at (502) 552-2093 or email kybirdsnest@aol.com.  Appointments can also be made directly with the Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS or online at www.Redcrossblood.org

Donors who register are also encouraged to fill out the “Rapid Pass” online within 24 hours of their donation to expedite the donation process.

Kentucky March for Life

JANUARY 23, FRANKFORT, KY

Those interested in attending may call Kenton Graviss (502-298-4758) or Mike McGrath (502-541-7208) for carpool information. The current plan is to meet at St. Albert that morning. 

Mass will be held at 9:30am, Good Shepherd Church, 72 Shepherd Way, with the walk beginning at 11:30am on Capital Ave & 104 E 2nd. Signature Sunday collected 500+ signatures and $911.00 to support the memorial advertisement in the Record on January 25th. Thank you to Mike McGrath and the Social Concerns Respect Life Committee for their work in promoting life and dignity of the human person.

SCHOOL

St. Albert School After School Care Director

St. Albert is looking for an After School Care Director for the 2024-2025 school year. The hours are from 2:15-6:00 Monday thru Friday, and will follow the school calendar. Our director is in charge of 11 employees and 130 students in grades K-5 that stay after school.  A qualified candidate will need to meet the educational requirements for a Type 1 Child-care center. St. Al's Aces Groundhog Day Luncheon

FEBRUARY 2ND in the PLC

Join us for the St. Al's Aces February Groundhog Day Luncheon in the Parish Life Center. Food will be catered by Olive Garden, with a choice of pasta, and includes a salad, breadsticks & dessert. Vegan option avaialble. $14.00 per person. Guests are welcome!

Fellowship starts at 10:30am, followed by entertainment at 11:00am, meeting at 12:00pm and lunch at 12:30pm.

5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grade boys:  February is the perfect time to join the St. Albert Boy Scout Troop!  Interested boys and their parents are invited to attend the Troop meeting on Monday, February 5th, at 7:00 PM in the PLC.
