PARISH POST
our mission: TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO LOVE, SERVE, AND KNOW GOD AND ONE ANOTHER.
June 29 - July 12, 2023
INDEPENDENCE DAY BLESSING
Father of all nations and ages, we recall the day when our country claimed its place among the family of nations; for what has been achieved we give you thanks, for the work that still remains we ask your help; and as you have called us from many peoples to be one nation, grant that, under your providence, our country may share your blessings with all the peoples of the earth. Amen.
In This Issue:
WORSHIP
Eucharistic Adoration
Eucharistic Adoration will be offered once a week on Wednesday from 1:00-4:00pm. The best time you spend on earth is with Jesus, your Best Friend, in the Blessed Sacrament! “How great is the value of conversation with Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, for there is nothing more consoling on earth, nothing more efficacious for advancing along the road of holiness!” -Pope Paul VI
Spiritual Adoration
What if you can’t make it to a church or chapel for Adoration?
St. Faustina would recommend “spiritual Adoration.” Her times of Adoration were both in the convent chapel and in private in her room and even on her sickbed. God knows we can have very good reasons for not visiting him in a church or chapel — family responsibilities, job, health, distance from a church, and so on. But we can do “spiritual Adoration” anywhere, anytime, including setting up our own Adoration chapel with a designated corner or chair at home!
Spending time in Adoration draws us into intimacy with Jesus. And as we get closer to him, he gives us the wisdom and strength to serve his Church and the people he has placed in our lives. Take a good look at your routine and find a way to include Adoration in your life. You will truly become the one you befriend.

EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL
Jesus Christ invites us to return to the source and summit of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

Lectio: Eucharist
Discovering the Mass in the Old and the New Testament.
Through the Augustine Institute on FORMED
“Lamb of God”, “The Bread of Life,” “The Body and the Blood of Christ” . . . . these are phrases we know from the Mass. But do we understand what they mean in the greater and deeper context of Scripture and Church teaching? We will discover firsthand how Christ’s Body and Blood are integral and wondrous part of God’s plan for our salvation. Dr. Brant Pitre, acclaimed author and teacher digs down to biblical root of the Eucharist through its foreshadowing in the miraculous events of the Old Testament, the Gospels, and Apostolic teaching.

The next gathering for Markey’s Group will take place on Tuesday, July 18th. We plan to revisit Bravo’s at 206 Bullitt Ln. Bravo’s was a favorite on our tour of restaurants this past year and the group felt a return trip was warranted. We will meet at 5:00 pm at the restaurant.
Markey’s group is a gathering of individuals who have experienced the loss of a spouse. We gather for good food, conversation, and fun. We are making the rounds to various area eating establishments once a month. It has been a great opportunity to make new friends and experience new dining adventures. New members are welcome. If you plan to attend the dinner at Bravo’s on July 18th contact Mike Ahrens at 836-7847 or michaelahrens93@yahoo.com by Monday July 17th .

STEWARDSHIP
Prayer, Participation, Generosity
Stewardship, quite simply, is recognizing that everything we have, and everything we are, is a gift from God; and being grateful for and generous with those gifts. Stewardship can be emotional support, hospitality, volunteer time, gifts in kind or monetary.
