Blessing of the Animals
October 1st | 4:00pm
Deacon Mark Preischel will conduct a service of the Blessing of the Animals this Sunday, October 1st at 4:00 p.m. in front of the church. Bring your pets of all shapes and sizes for this blessing which takes place annually close to the Feast day of St. Francis of Assisi.
St. Francis of Assisi spent much of his time preaching about animals, exhorting that all creatures are brothers and sisters under God. Born in 1181 in Italy, St. Francis is today celebrated as Patron Saint of Ecologists. "A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows." St. Francis Assisi
EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL
Jesus Christ invites us to return to the source and summit of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

Our next Collection will benefit Saint Vincent dePaul Food Pantry. Items of need are peanut butter, spaghetti; canned tuna, chicken or ham; canned corn, mixed vegetables, mixed fruit or peaches; canned soup and chili; cooking oil, sugar, flour, cake & brownie mixes; coffee, tea, powdered drinks; body wash, shampoo/conditioner, lotion; Ajax, Clorox, 409, Mr. Clean, Windex.
According to a 2021 report from the Greater Louisville Project, 12.9% of Louiville residents and nearly 1 in 5 children experience food insecurity. Many of them do not qualify for federal food assistance and depend on the charitable sector or other non-governmental sources to meet their food needs. Thank you for helping to feed our neighbors!
Little Way serves over 1,300 expectant mothers annually. Please consider picking up a Baby Bottle in the back of S.t Albert church on October 7th and 8th to take home, fill with donations, and return on October 28th and 29th weekend.
Collection for Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Services Program
Saturday October 21st | 9 AM - 3 PM | St. Albert Parking Lot
Migration and Refugee Services (MRS) “welcomes the stranger” with open arms, helping those escaping persecution begin new lives with dignity. Our multilingual, multicultural staff offers comprehensive services and begins assisting refugee clients pre-arrival by finding suitable housing and stocking the home with food and furnishings. Catholic Charities will drop off a truck on Saturday October 21st from 9 AM till 3 PM. Below are the needed items we use to outfit apartments and homes for our wonderful clients. NAMI Support Group Resumes Meeting in October
The group provides a safe space for family and friends of people with mental health conditions to discuss their loved ones mental health while receiving knowledge, encouragement and support. The next meeting is the third Sunday, October 15 at 7:00pm. Please share with friends and family outside the parish. All St. Al’s Aces and guests are invited to Germanic celebration of the beauty of Autumn and the harvest season!
Reservation forms were mailed to the entire membership over two weeks ago. Please fill out your forms for one of three food options and mail your completed form to: Pat O’Bryant, 8610 Glenfield Way, Louisville, Ky. 40241.
We will have German food catered by Heintzman’s Bakery, LIVE German music, fun, fellowship, prizes (Pot of Gold worth $150 to winner who is present) and non-alcoholic beer. We will take reservations up to the last minute (as usual).
This event is on a school day so we will be sharing the campus with the students, faculty and staff. We will be parking in the lot south of the school building (Westport Road side). There will be room for a passenger drop-off and turnaround near the Parish Life Center. We will also have use of the Parish golf cart to bring folks to the PLC from their cars. We will be vacating the PLC by 1:30 p.m. before the car pool lanes forms for the end of the school day. We appreciate the cooperation of everyone on campus. Friday Night Adult Co-ed Volleyball League
The St. Albert GAP Club needs two more volleyball teams to fill a 12 team league. This is a fun, competitive, adult co-ed league that plays on Friday nights at St. Albert Gym beginning on Friday, October 20th. Looking for brotherhood and a strong sense of community? The St. Albert Men's Fellowship is just for you!
The idea for the fellowship came about in 2022, when several parishioners began to get together informally to share ideas, opportunities and to sharpen one another in different ways. Over the year, the group has grown, and we're excited to formalize our gatherings at St. Albert, inviting all our parish brothers to come meet other like-minded men interested in forming strong friendships, deepening their faith, and participating in service. St. Albert the Great Gym Manager Position
Part Time – appx. 10-15 hours per week during Fall and Winter Indoor Sports | $18 per hour
Responsible for overseeing gym operations during the following Fall and Winter CSAA competitions. This includes regular season games, which are typically on Saturdays or Sundays, and some tournament games, which are on weeknights or weekends.

Job Description
Responsible for overseeing gym operations during the following Fall and Winter CSAA competitions. This includes regular season games, which are typically on Saturdays or Sundays, and some tournament games, which are on weeknights or weekends.

The regular season games require the gym manager to be at the gym for a full day. Duties on game days include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for maintaining and distributing online sign-up for concession/gate/scorekeepers
Communicates schedule to workers
Communicates shifts that need to be filled
Prior to the first game of the day, preps the gym and concessions for games
Sets up nets/goals to the correct height, pulls out benches, scores table, gate table and bleachers (with help of the workers)
Ensures that CSAA scoring sheets are provided to scorekeepers
Oversees workers for concessions, entry gate and scorekeeping/line-judging
Ensures that workers have signed in and signed out each shift and W-9 forms have been provided
Ensures the nets/goals are broken down as needed and gym/concessions are cleaned after the last game and bleachers are pushed back in
Accounts for gate and concession proceeds and ensures the appropriate forms are filled out correctly and signed.
Locks and secures the gym at the end of the day
Reports any maintenance needs for gym and concessions to SAAM chair/vice-chair
Gym Manager reports to SAAM chair/vice-chair. Prior approval required for time off or additional hours. Hours may vary based on schedule determined by CSAA.
Must be responsible, reliable, and comfortable directing workers as needed. Must be 18 years or older. Ideal part time job for a college student or retiree!
