PARISH POST
our mission: TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO LOVE, SERVE, AND KNOW GOD AND ONE ANOTHER.
December 20 - December 27, 2023
"The angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord'". (Lk 2:10-11)
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of Your Son, Jesus, whose entry into our world we celebrate this season. Fill our hearts with the peace that only He provides. Amen.

WORSHIP
4th Sunday of Advent
This year the Advent season is as short as it can be. The 4th week of Advent consists of one day - which is December 24th.
Christmas is December 25th and thus many people like to go to church the evening before Christmas (Christmas eve).
We will celebrate the 4th week of Advent on Saturday, December 23rd at 5 p.m. & Sunday, December 24th at 10:30 a.m. This year we will not have an 8 a.m. Mass on December 24th. With only one priest as well as the confusion that this weekend brings, we have decided to reduce the number of Masses on December 24th.
To recap: Your Sunday obligation for the 4th Sunday of Advent can be fulfilled by attending either the 5 p.m. Mass on December 23rd or the 10:30 a.m. Mass on December 24th.
Christmas Day is a Holy Day of Obligation and Masses will be December 24th at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., December 25th at Midnight and 10a.m.
That's a lot of Masses in a short period of time!!
Christmas Mass Schedule
Sunday, December 24th
5 p.m. with children’s choir and handbells – music begins at 4:30 p.m.
8 p.m. with flute and violin
Midnight Mass
with adult choir and string quartet – music begins at 11:30 p.m.
Monday, December 25th
10 a.m. with flute and violin.
Epiphany Masses
Saturday, January 6th, 5 p.m.
Sunday, January 7th, 8 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.
January 1st, Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God
Since January 1st falls on a Monday this year, the Holy Day of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, is not a Holy Day of Obligation. We will still celebrate this great Solemnity with Mass at 9:00 a.m.
Collection for Catholic Charities

We will be collecting old and/or broken Christmas light strings on the weekends of January 6th /7th and 13th /14th. No need to remove the bulbs. Just look for the marked boxes in the entry way to church. We’ll take it from there and ensure that those old lights get recycled. Thanks!
Saint Vincent de Paul
Imagine how Mary felt at the birth of Jesus: excited, awed, frightened. Deep faith was her light in the darkness, for Jesus was born during the night of the year when darkness is the longest.
Your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul brought light into the darkness surrounding the heart of those living in poverty bringing them the real, lasting, and deep joy of Christmas.
