As you make your summer plans, be sure to mark your calendar for our Parish Summer Festival on June 19th & 20th! This beloved tradition is our parish’s largest fundraiser and a joyful celebration with food, games, music, and activities for all ages.

The Summer Picnic Committee is always looking for new volunteers—it’s a rewarding way to serve, share your talents, and meet fellow parishioners of all ages. More details coming soon, but for now, save the date and plan to join the fun!

Save the Date: Lenten Fish Fry Fridays!

February 20th - March 27th

Join us on Fridays during Lent for our popular Lenten Fish Fry! Enjoy delicious fish sandwiches and full dinners, along with homemade desserts. Try your luck with pull tabs, gather with friends and family, and choose to dine in with us or take carryout home. Attend Stations of the Cross as part of your Lenten observance. Mark your calendar and plan to make it a Friday tradition this Lent! 

Mass for Youth & Young Adult Servers

January 20 | 6:30pm |Ascension

The Office of Worship and Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry invite youth altar servers and their families to a special Mass with Archbishop Shelton on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 6:30p.m. at Ascension Church (4600 Lynnbrook Dr., Louisville 40220) to acknowledge and thank servers for their important ministry in their parishes. A light reception will follow. Information will also be provided about the ministry of pontifical server (high school and college-aged youth who assist the archbishop at major archdiocesan liturgies). No Children's Liturgy of the Word on January 25 & March 1

Children’s Liturgy of the Word will not offered because Visitation Hall is unavailable on January 25th & March 1st. 

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered every Sunday during the 10:30am Mass. Children are invited to be dismissed before the First Reading and return to the church in time for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. During this time, they enjoy age-appropriate Scripture readings, discussion, and activities that help bring Sunday’s Gospel to life. All children from Kindergarten through First Eucharist are welcome—no registration needed!

St. Albert Book Club

Thursday, January 29th | 10:00am | SHC

Our book for January is Rome Sweet Home by Scott and Kimberly Hahn, a book about their conversion to Catholicism. We will meet on the last Thursday of January, the 29th, at 10:00am in the Sacred Heart Center.

Marriage Preparation Programs 

For couples preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony in the Archdiocese of Louisville, the Church requires participation in an approved marriage preparation program as part of your preparation process. Please speak with your parish priest or deacon early in your planning to determine the best option for you. 

Approved Programs Include:

• Foundations for Marriage — A one-day, 8-hour Archdiocesan program focused on Church teaching, communication, family of origin, finances, and other important marriage topics. https://www.archlou.org/foundation-for-marriage

Markey's Group

Tuesday, January 20th

The next gathering of Markey’s Group will take place on Tuesday, January, 20th at 12:00pm at Bristol Bar & Grille, 300 North Hurstbourne Lane (Note: we are meeting for lunch.) RSVP to Rosemary Walsburger at 502-552-7249 on or before Monday, January 19th.

Markey’s Group invites anyone who has experienced the loss of a spouse to join us for socializing and the enjoyment of a good meal.

Pastoral Care Offerings

Special Disciples Of Jesus Mass
All Special Needs family and friends are invited; the Mass will be shorter and geared towards our children. Meet other families in similar situations. Hope & Healing Group: Substance Abuse Passing
St. Albert the Great hosts a monthly support group for those who have lost a loved one from any type of substance use. Third Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00pm (SHC). The next meeting will be on January 21st.

NAMI Family Support Group
The group provides a safe space for family and friends of people with mental health conditions to receive knowledge, encouragement and support. Third Sunday of the month at 7:00pm (PLC). Communion to the Sick and Homebound

The Archdiocese of Louisville is offering a workshop is for Communion Ministers who want to extend their ministry to sick and homebound situations, or for new Extraordinary Ministers who want to minister exclusively to the sick and homebound. We are currently seeking compassionate volunteers to serve as Homebound Ministers for Communion. This meaningful ministry brings the Eucharist and a sense of connection to those in our parish who are unable to attend Mass due to illness, age, or mobility issues. If you feel called to share your faith in this special way and can commit to visiting on the weekend or as needed, please contact Kristina Hellmann at 425-3940. Your presence could be a powerful reminder of God’s love and our parish community’s care!

Nourish for Caregivers 

Virtually every one of us will care for a loved one at some time in our life. Though rewarding, it’s not always easy. Nourish for Caregivers is for anyone juggling the challenges of everyday life, health, career and caring for an aging parent, spouse or grandparent, in town or at a distance. Nourish provides caregivers a faith perspective, as well as practical and emotional supports, useful tools, and shared experience. Discover the blessings that come from caring for another.

This group will meet on the second Wednesday of the month from 7–8:00 p.m. If you want to join in person we will be at St. Margaret Mary in the Spirituality Center. DivorceCare 

DivorceCare is a weekly seminar/support group that helps divorced or separated people heal from the hurt.  It provides a warm, caring, and confidential environment in which participants can learn practical information and gain hope for the future.

SVDP: Helping Our Neighbors in Need

Recently, our conference was contacted by a woman hospitalized for 10 days with multiple health issues including a tumor and heart condition. The time off work put her behind on bills and rent. Back at work, but limited to 4 hours per day, her income was reduced further. The landlord, who had begun the eviction process, was willing to work with her given her previous good standing as a tenant. We, along with a community ministry and other churches, were able to provide rent assistance and keep her in her home. Your support makes stories like this possible. When making donations by check, please make checks payable to St. Albert SVDP Conference (rather than the parish). This helps funds reach those in need more quickly and reduces work for parish staff.

Martin Luther King Holiday 

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Catholic Charities invites you to visit its website at cclou.org for opportunities to fight for social justice in the form of food insecurity, human trafficking, immigrant rights, advocating for the rights and dignity of nursing home residents, and so much more. Catholic Charities represents the Church at work in our community. Your support matters. As we approach Dr. King’s holiday, let us be inspired by this righteous man’s work and sacrifice to create a more just society for all of God’s children. 

Red Cross Blood Drive

Sunday, February 1st | 8am-1pm

The Social Concerns Team are sponsoring our quarterly Red Cross blood drive in the Parish Life Complex on Sunday 2/1/26 from 8am until 1pm.  Appointments are recommended but not required. For appointments, please call Mary Jo Bird at (502) 552-2093 or email kybirdsnest@aol.com.  Appointments can also be made directly with the Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS or online at www.Redcrossblood.org. Donors who register are also encouraged to fill out the “Rapid Pass” online within 24 hours of their donation to expedite the donation process. 

Loaves & Fishes

Weekend of February 1st

Our next Loaves & Fishes Collection will benefit St. Vincent dePaul. Canned foods: soups, stews, chili, fruits, vegetables, beans. Dried goods: pancake mix, tea bags, rice, packaged pasta, cereal, granola bars, packaged crackers. In addition to non-perishable food items they are always in need of personal care items, paper towels & toilet paper, and cleaning supplies.

Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James)

Friday, January 30th | 6:30 - 8:00PM | Visitation Hall

Please join us on Friday, January 30th at 6:30pm in Visitation Hall to hear one of our parishioners, Diane Thompson, talk about her most recent pilgrimage. It was a 500 mile walk across Spain that took her through villages and towns where St. James touched the hearts and souls of many, and it challenged her physically, mentally and spiritually.  

All are invited, and anyone else who has experienced this pilgrimage, please feel free to come and share as well.  We look forward to seeing you!

St. Albert serves the spiritual, physical and social needs of our members through many ministries... Liturgy, sacramental preparation, bereavement, outreach to the elderly, poor or homeless, religious education, fish fry, summer picnic and many more...
