PARISH POST

our mission: TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO LOVE, SERVE, AND KNOW GOD AND ONE ANOTHER.

October 5- October 11, 2023

WORSHIP

Mass Schedule

Daily Mass on Thursday, October 12th will be at 9:25 a.m. during Fall Break. There will not be students attending this Mass.

The Most Holy Rosary

The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7.  The best way to celebrate the month is, of course, to pray the Rosary! Make it special by praying the rosary by candlelight, listening to instrumental musical or chants in the background or setting up a small altar at home.

Respect Life Month

During the month of October the church celebrates Respect Life Month. We are asked to spend time in reflection and pray for a true cultivation of respect for life at all stages. Created as we are in God’s own image we should build a world where human life is always loved and defended. In the homily of his inaugural Mass, Pope Benedict XVI said, “Each of us is the result of a thought of God. Each of us is willed, each of us is loved, each of us is necessary.”

The sacredness of life is violated when the life of the unborn is threatened; when children live in fear, poverty, hunger and abuse; when the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of the elderly and disabled are neglected; and when millions who live in refugee camps, in prison, in war zones and in disease are deprived of their God-given human dignity.

CATHOLIC SERVICE APPEAL

Do This in Memory of Me

The theme of the 2023 Catholic Services Appeal is “Do this in memory of Me.” These words of Jesus, spoken at each celebration of the Eucharist, resonate in the heart of every Catholic. With this invitation, and strengthened by the Eucharist, Jesus invites us to remember Him as we go forth into the world and respond as His disciples to all that we encounter. The annual Appeal gives us an opportunity to do this by living out our archdiocesan mission statement: to proclaim and live the good news of Jesus Christ.

Did you know that funds raised through the Catholic Services Appeal benefit our community directly? Whether responding to human needs, promoting vocations, providing ministry training, evangelizing, or assisting parishes, archdiocesan ministries and services reach beyond the ability of our parish or any other parish to do this work alone. It is the work that Christ has entrusted to His Church. Through our gifts to the annual Catholic Services Appeal, we are partnering in the work Christ has given to the Church.

Make sure to list your parish as St. Alber the Great (044) !

EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL

Jesus Christ invites us to return to the source and summit of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
