WORSHIP
Holy Week Schedule
The Sacred Triduum
The word “Triduum” comes from the Latin word meaning “three days,” and encompasses the three most sacred days in the Church year. It begins at sundown on Holy Thursday, reaches a high point at the Easter Vigil, and concludes with evening prayer at sundown on Easter Sunday. The liturgical celebrations during the Triduum on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday are rich with symbolism and flow from one to another in a seamless way. While it may appear as if these liturgies are separate and distinct, they are actually intended to be one continuous celebration that commemorates the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus.

Divine Mercy Sunday
Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated on the Second Sunday of Easter.
The Second Sunday of Easter completes the Octave (8 day celebration) of Easter and the readings and prayer texts highlight the mystery of divine compassion that underlies the Church’s Easter faith.
The origins of Divine Mercy Sunday date back to St. Faustina (1905-1938) who reported having visions of Jesus and conversations with him. In one of the visions Jesus shared that "Humanity will never find peace until it turns with trust to Divine Mercy". Divine Mercy is the Easter gift that the Church receives from the risen Christ and offers to humanity.
Jesus asked that the Feast of the Divine Mercy be preceded by a Novena to the Divine Mercy which begins on Good Friday. He gave St. Faustina an intention to pray for on each day of the Novena. “On each day of the novena you will bring to My heart a different group of souls and you will immerse them in this ocean of My mercy…. On each day you will beg My Father, on the strength of My passion, for the graces for these souls.”
Please see the link for the complete prayers and intentions for the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Rosary beads can be used to keep track of the prayers.

LOAVES & FISHES
Thank you to everyone who donated items to support Sr Visitor Choice Food Pantry. We filled a huge van with over 700 lbs. of food valued at $1,400! They were so very grateful for all the needed supplies. Your generosity is inspiring!
LENTEN TREE
Thank you to our parishioners who contributed to our collection for the retired religious through the Lenten Tree. Our parishioners are so generous. We received almost 100 gift bags for our beneficiaries! Thank you for your donations and your loving hearts!
What are the most needed items for a food pantry?
The most needed items are diapers, personal care products and cleaning supplies because these items are not covered by SNAP. The least needed items are mac-n-cheese, peanut butter, corn and beans because food pantries already receive these items in bulk. The next time you are out shopping grab one of these items, especially when they are on sale!
