Memorial Day Prayer

Heavenly Father, we lift up in prayer our brothers and sisters who have gone before us, sacrificing their own lives for the protection and safety of others. We are grateful for their service. May they inspire us to live selflessly in our own lives, as Christ calls us to do. In Jesus’s name we pray. Amen.  (Hallow)

Join Us For A Prayerful & Joyous Celebration with Future Father Schultz

May 31st    |  7:30pm  | St. Albert the Great Church

On the night before his Ordination as a Priest, our soon to be Associate Pastor, Deacon Michael Schultz will preside at Vespers and Eucharistic Adoration at St. Albert the Great.

He will be joined by seminarians, deacons, and priests of the Archdiocese and we will welcome Archbishop Shelton Fabre and Bishop John Michael Botean of the Romanian Diocese of Canton. Future Father Schultz's chalice will be consecrated by Bishop Botean at this special liturgy. This is an opportunity for our parish to pray with him that he will become a holy priest for the St. Albert Community and the Archdiocese of Louisville!

Following the service, all are welcome for a reception in our Parish Life Center.

In addition, all parishioners are invited to attend Mass, with Future Father Schultz presiding, at his home parish of St. Athanasius Church (5915 Outer Loop)  at 1:30pm on Sunday, June 2. The Mass will be celebrated in the Romanian (Byzantine) Rite.

Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre will ordain Deacon Schultz along with Deacons Matthew Millay, Kenneth Nauert, Yen Tran and Van Tran at 10 a.m. on June 1st at St. Michael Church, 3705 Stone Lakes Drive. Read about Deacon Schultz Here

Eucharistic Procession at St. Albert Church

JUNE 2nd AFTER 10:30AM MASS

On June 1st/2nd we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. In honor of this great feast day and to wrap up our Parish Level Eucharistic Revival year, we will be having a Eucharistic Procession on Sunday, June 2nd after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. The procession will begin in the church at the conclusion of Mass. We will process outside and walk around the St. Albert campus. Benediction in the church will conclude the procession.

Processions are important because they remind us that we are pilgrims journeying through this earthly existence following Jesus on “the Way”. When we have a Eucharistic Procession, not only are we gazing upon our Eucharistic Lord, but we are walking with him. We experience what the disciples did 2000 years ago as they walked with Jesus, proclaiming the Good News to the world.

Ireland Trip 2025

The St. Albert the Great Adult Choir is planning a trip to Ireland for July 17-29, 2025!

We will be joining forces with the adult choir from St. James Catholic Church in Louisville. This trip is open to anyone who would like to travel on this memorable adventure to see the sights and sounds of beautiful Ireland. Along with various sightseeing opportunities, the combined choir will have 3 performances including a Sunday Mass at Galway Cathedral. An information session will be held in the church on Wednesday, May 29th at 6:30p.m. Brochures will be available with details and pricing. Please contact Laura Sullivan, lsullivan@stalbert.org for more information.

2024 Crusade for Children Collection

THIS WEEKEND! MAY 25th & 26th

Since 1955, the Archdiocese of Louisville has contributed millions of dollars to the Crusade for Children. This community-wide effort changes the lives of children with special needs, and families and Catholic schools in the Archdiocese have benefited directly from the Crusade. On May 25th & 26th, our parish will collect donations for this year's Crusade. Those who wish to donate may bring contributions to Mass or to the parish and put the word "Crusade" in the memo line. If giving online, you can credit our parish in the "Additional Details" portion of the giving platform. The online form will ask a question about crediting a fire department. Answer no and then the form will populate a question about crediting a Catholic parish. With a yes answer to that question, the online form provides a drop-down menu of parishes.

EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL

National Eucharistic Pilgrimage

The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is an initiative of the Eucharistic Revival that seeks to take Jesus to the world on foot across the entire nation. Four routes begin with kickoff events on Pentecost, May 19, 2024. Each route will walk with Jesus across the country for approximately two months. All four groups will meet in Indianapolis on July 16 to attend the National Eucharistic Congress. The routes will cover 6,500 miles, 27 states, and 65 dioceses.

JOIN THE EUCHARISTIC CARAVAN

Accompany Jesus for a segment of the Pilgrimage or meet up with him at events held by local parishes and shrines along the routes! We expect around 100,000 Catholics to join us in this massive witness to our love of Jesus in the Eucharist. Please note: for safety reasons, only certain segments of the Pilgrimage will be open to the public & preregistration is required. The southern route of the pilgrimage will be traveling through Kentucky from June 30 through July 9, 2024.

LOUISVILLE DATES:

We are blessed that the Juan Diego route, originating in Brownsville, Texas, will pass through the Archdiocese of Louisville from July 4 – 9, with events at local parishes on July 8 – 9. There will be several opportunities to interact with the pilgrims while here through prayer and fellowship. A schedule of events can be found at www.eucharisticpilgrimage.org/st-juan-diego-route. (or click on the buttons below) At this site, you can follow an interactive map of the Juan Diego route and click on specific stops along the route for more information or to register for liturgies or events. (Click on the red dots to bring up the list of events and registration forms.)

We are particularly in need of volunteers to host the pilgrims overnight for one or two nights. Hosts must have Safe Environment training and be willing to host two or more young adults age 19-29. If you are interested in hosting, please contact Chenele Shaw at chenele@moderncatholicpilgrim.com.

St. Vincent dePaul

As we celebrate the mystery of the Trinity we also realize the mystery of  how much God loves and cares for us each day. Believing in this our lives can then overflow in thanksgiving and praise.

Your gift in the St. Vincent de Paul Poor Box will help the poor to believe in the mystery of God’s love for them.

STEWARDSHIP

Stewardship Renewal

Stewardship is living a life of gratitude, taking the time every day to recognize the gifts that God has given and to be grateful for them. Stewardship is returning a portion of our gifts to God. The gifts we return are our time, our talent and our treasure. We return these gifts not because it is required, but because we feel an overwhelming need to show our love and gratitude to God, and to support each other on our journey to heaven.

Thank you in advance for your continued support of our parish. It takes all of us —pastor, deacons, laity, members, and children— to live out our Parish Mission to “Know, Love and Serve God and One Another.” Your prayer, participation, and generosity to our community is a blessing!

Stewardship forms are in the mail. Please return your form to the parish office, or email it to stewardship@stalbert.org, before June 1, 2024.
