Four routes began with kickoff events on Pentecost, May 19, 2024. Each route will walk with Jesus across the country for approximately two months. All four groups will meet in Indianapolis on July 16 to attend the National Eucharistic Congress. The routes will cover 6,500 miles, 27 states, and 65 dioceses. The southern route of the pilgrimage will be traveling through Kentucky from June 30 through July 9, 2024. Please note: for safety reasons, only certain segments of the Pilgrimage will be open to the public & preregistration is required.

LOUISVILLE DATES:

We are blessed that the Juan Diego route, originating in Brownsville, Texas, will pass through the Archdiocese of Louisville from July 4 – 9, with events at local parishes on July 8 – 9. There will be several opportunities to interact with the pilgrims while here through prayer and fellowship.

We are particularly in need of volunteers to host the pilgrims overnight for one or two nights. Hosts must have Safe Environment training and be willing to host two or more young adults age 19-29. If you are interested in hosting, please contact Chenele Shaw at chenele@moderncatholicpilgrim.com.

LIFELONG FORMATION & EDUCATION

Women's Fall Bible Study

SEPT 10 - OCT 29  |  7:00 – 8:30 p.m.  |  PLC

Following Christ takes more than simply believing in him or doing what he asks of us. Jesus wants you to be more than just a believer—he wants you to be his disciple and friend. Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John is your guide to a personal encounter with Christ. As the Good Shepherd, Jesus seeks us. He comes to meet us and beckons us to follow him. He calls us to be his disciples, to trust him, to open ourselves to his merciful love, and to love others as he has loved us. Follow Me invites you to experience the joy of a renewed friendship with Christ. In this study you will learn what it takes to follow Christ and discover the joy of divine friendship. You will see how God, and only God, can satisfy the deepest desires of your heart.

This eight-week study begins on Tuesday, September 10 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.  in the Parish Life Center.

Please RSVP no later than August 2 to Debbie Shearn at dkshea01@hotmail.com

STEWARDSHIP

Stewardship Renewal

LAST CALL!

It's not too late to return your form! The form can be mailed to the parish office or dropped in the collection basket using the included envelope; or email to stewardship@stalbert.org.

Thank you in advance for your continued support of our parish. It takes all of us —pastor, deacons, laity, members, and children— to live out our Parish Mission to “Know, Love and Serve God and One Another.” Your prayer, participation, and generosity to our community is a blessing!

COMMUNITY

Prayer Garden Memorial Brick

Searching for that perfect gift for someone who seemingly has everything? Look no further! Leave a legacy in St Albert's Prayer Garden as a reminder of a loved one or special occasion.

Engrave a brick in memory of a special person in your life; honor a veteran, first responder, teacher or priest; recognize your school; or mark a special date in your life (graduation, birthday, baptism, communion, anniversary, or wedding), the possibilities are endless.

The GAP Club will once again be selling bricks for the prayer garden. The cost will be $100.00 per brick. The link to purchase a brick is store@stalbert.org or you can fill out the attached form and send it to the parish office.

GAP Club Golf Outing

SAVE THE DATE!

The annual St. Albert the Great GAP Golf Outing supporting the Steven Vanover Foundation will be Friday, September 13th.  More information will be coming soon!

Bone Marrow Registry

While you're having fun at this year's St Albert Summer Picnic, you might also have the opportunity to help save someone's life! A group of St. Albert volunteers for NMDP Registry (formerly Be the Match) will be on site from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evening (or until we run out of swabs). We will be swabbing the cheeks of volunteers aged 18-40 to enter potential donors into the National Bone Marrow Registry. NMDP connects cancer patients with a matching donor for a life-saving blood stem cell transplant.

Parishioners and school parents Amanda and Rob Oakley recently shared their story that Rob donated his bone marrow to a teenage cancer patient 11 years ago and has since received bone marrow stimulant as part of his own chemotherapy treatments during his fight against stage four colon cancer.

Joining the registry if you're able is a great opportunity for us to step up as a community in honor of the Oakley family as they are an inspiration to us all. (For clarity, this drive is not to find a match for Rob, just to do good in the world like him!) Learn more at nmdp.org and help us spread the word!
