WORSHIP

Mass Schedule Changes

Beginning the week of August 15th, the Thursday morning Weekday Mass will be held at 9:25a.m. during the weekly school Mass. There will be no Mass at 8:30am during the school year.

St. Vincent de  Paul Collection

This weekend there will be a second collection for SVDP. In addition to the 5th Sunday collections and monies from the Poor Box, you can choose SVDP as one of the special offerings in online giving.

Please consider donating to SVDP. Our donations are down, but with high inflation the needs of the poor we serve are increasing. 

We also welcome any parishioner that would like to learn about our service to the poor, or join our conference, speak with LuAnn West, President, or one of our other dedicated volunteers. lwysewest@outlook.com.

Baptism

PREP

Our Parish Religious Education Program meets on Sunday mornings from August - late April for children in Grades K-8 with religious and sacramental formation.  If your child(ren) are not registered in our parish school, we would LOVE to see them on Sundays!  Forms may be found on the church info racks and on the website.  Our OPENING ASSEMBLY is August 21 at 9:00 am - 10:15 am in the Parish Life Complex. We have 10 more open spots for the Hand-in-Hand Appalachia Mission Trip on September 25-27th! This trip is open to youth grades 8-12. The cost is ONLY $50 thanks to some YM grants! !

Back-to-School Bash

Picnic at Robsion Park!  Parents AND children 7 & under!  Bring Your Own Picnic and we will provide FREE crafts, family fun, and Shaved Ice! Older siblings are welcome!

Grace Marriage 

September 17th, November 5th, February 4th, April 22nd

Grace Marriage is an intentional, on-going, parish-based, small group approach to marriage ministry where couples spend time focusing on their marriage. Couples will meet with their small group one Saturday morning once a quarter.

Loaves & Fishes

Sr Visitor food drive is next weekend. Sr Visitor is a Choice Pantry. The pantry is set up like a store, so that means the client is allowed to come and get the items that their family needs the most. Things that they always need are listed below.                          

All these items can be purchased at the Dollar Tree for only $1.25 each, a great deal. Saltine crackers are also very helpful. Walmart has their bran for $1.12 a box.

Cleaning supplies can not be purchased with food stamps so that’s why they are so helpful. Paper towels & toilet paper are needed too.

These are such great items because they are not given to the pantry by the USDA. Thanks again for your GREAT spirit of giving!

SCHOOL

St. Albert Yard Sale

Help the 8th grade students earn money to fund their 8th grade trip to Washington, DC and New York! Shop a grade-wide yard sale on Saturday, August 13th from 8:00am to 12:00pm. The kids will have tables set-up in the side parking lot of St. Albert. Lots of household items, clothes, toys, etc! St. Albert School Admission Policy

If you are interested in applying for admission into St. Albert the Great Parish School, please review the dates below to determine when you need to apply for the 2023/2024 school year. Please keep in mind that we will not accept early applications.

Current School Family Registration for New Siblings

If you are a current school family and would like to add a new student to St. Albert for the 2023/2024 school year, you will need to apply between August 15-31, 2022. Late applications will be considered in the general pool below. 

St. Albert the Great Parishioner Registration Priority

If you are a current and active parishioner at St. Albert the Great, you may apply for 2023/2024 priority enrollment between September 1-30, 2022. Length of membership and involvement will be taken into consideration.

Early Registration Open to the Public

Any Catholic or non-Catholic family that applies between October 1 - November 30, 2022 will be evaluated based on the date in which we receive the completed application.

Rolling Registration

We will accept applications after December 1, 2022 on an on-going basis until we reach our class capacity. Once grades are full, we will start wait lists. Applications will be considered based on the date in which we receive the completed application.

St. Albert School is Hiring

School Reception

St. Albert School is looking for a Front Desk Office Person for the 2022-2023 school year.  We are looking for a friendly person to answer phones, greet visitors, and assist teachers, parents and students.  If you are interested, or know someone that might be interested, please contact Ellen Martin at emartin@stalbert.org

Play Cafe’

Looking for the perfect part-time job? St. Albert’s JK-5 After-School program, the Play Cafe’, is looking for individuals 18 years or older to work in our program from 2:30-6:00pm Monday through Friday beginning Monday, August 15. St. Albert Gap Club Annual Golf Scramble

Friday, August 26th

Eagle Creek Golf Course 

Shotgun start time will be 1:30p.m. 

$90 per player ($360 for a foursome)

Covers the golf, beverages and dinner after the round. 

There will also be challenge holes on the course and raffle opportunities. A cash prize will be awarded to the winning team. Register online at https://store.stalbert.org Funds raised at this tournament go directly to support the Steven Vanover Foundation.

GAP Club News

Come watch the Friday Night Adult Kickball League! We have GREAT grilled sandwiches: chicken, cheeseburger, hot dog & fries. Plus cold adult beverages. Games start at 6pm on Friday nights. The league is running now through August 19th. Cheer on your friends while the kiddos play on the new St. Albert Island playground!

Catholic Disability Gala

Saturday, August 27th

St. Louis Bertrand Church

“Race for Belonging: Catholic Disability Gala” to honor Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Kurtz for his past service with the National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD). 

Following Mass at 4:15 pm, tour the Shrine of Saint Margaret of Castello (patron saint of persons with disabilities), then enjoy cocktails, silent auction, and dinner. Proceeds will provide clergy and lay leaders with training to support persons with disabilities and their families in the Church.
