2023 Crusade for Children

Since 1955, the Archdiocese of Louisville has contributed millions of dollars to the Crusade for Children. This community-wide effort changes the lives of children with special needs, and many families in the Archdiocese have benefited directly from the Crusade as have our schools, which receive grants to assist students with diverse learning needs. This weekend May 27th & 28th, our parish will collect donations for this year’s Crusade. Those who wish to donate may bring contributions to Mass or to the parish office. If giving by check, please make your check payable to the parish and put the word “Crusade” in the memo line. Thank you for your generosity.

The Thursday daily Mass time will return to 8:30am during the school summer break. 

Jesus Christ invites us to return to the source and summit of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

Holy Communion

Archbishop Shelton Fabre has announced that the Archdiocese will reinstate permission to distribute the Precious Blood to the faithful from the Chalice at weekend Masses on the Feast of Corpus Christi, June 10-11, 2023. Since 1978, the Bishops of the United States have encouraged the distribution of the Precious Blood regularly, noting that this “is the fullest sign and most perfect fulfillment of what the Lord did and directed.” As always, reception from the Chalice is optional and those who are ill, infirm, or have compromised immune systems should be reassured that our Church also teaches that Jesus Christ is truly and wholly present under both species of bread and wine.

St. Albert Eucharistic Procession

SUNDAY, JUNE 11TH, 9:45AM

All are invited to the Saint Albert the Great Eucharistic Procession on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. around the St Albert campus.

The Eucharistic Revival Year kicks off June 10th & 11th with the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. In honor of this great feast day and to rev up our Revival year, we will be having a Eucharistic Procession on Sunday, June 11th between the 8 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. Masses. We will start off in the church at 9:45a.m. and have an outdoor procession that will go around the St. Albert campus. We will come back to church for Benediction at 10:15 a.m.

Processions are important because they remind us that we are pilgrims journeying through this earthly existence following Jesus on “the Way”. When we have a Eucharistic Procession, not only are we gazing upon our Eucharistic Lord, but we are walking with him. We experience what the disciples did 2000 years ago as they walked with Jesus, proclaiming the Good News to the world.

Two students in the Graduate Theology Program at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology with the Archdiocese of Louisville were awarded master’s degrees at the end of the Spring 2023 semester.

The Graduate Theology Program offers master’s degrees and graduate certificates in theology to lay persons and permanent deacons. These studies provide a solid foundation in the Catholic tradition for those preparing for Church ministry or seeking personal growth.

Baptism

Does your child need the Sacrament of Baptism?  Our next Baptism Service is scheduled for June 25th at noon with Parent Preparation Class on Tuesday, June 20th at 6:30pm; or July 23rd during the 10:30 am Mass, with Parent Preparation Class on Monday, July 10th at 6:30 pm.  Contact Debbie Koeberlein at dkoeberlein@stalbert.org.

Loaves & Fishes

June 3rd & 4th

Next month’s collection will benefit the Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. In 2022, with the price of groceries largely increasing, the SVDP Food Pantry served an average of more than 650 households monthly. Items of need are peanut butter, canned soup, canned fruit & vegetables, canned stew, canned fish/chicken, canned beans and boxed pasta & rice. Also needed are personal care items, like toothpaste, dish detergent, laundry detergent, and toilet paper. Please leave items at the back of church by noon on June 4th.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

Today as we celebrate Pentecost, Jesus says to his disciples: “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we can bring peace to those who are hungry.

And to the incredible parent volunteers who worked hard to make this a fun and successful school year. So now it is time to relax and be kids! Stewardship, quite simply, is recognizing that everything we have, and everything we are, is a gift from God; and being grateful for and generous with those gifts. Stewardship can be emotional support, hospitality, volunteer time, gifts in kind or monetary. 

Stewardship Renewal forms have been mailed to all parishioners. The form can be returned to the parish office using the included envelope or dropped in the collection basket at Mass.
