The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Lk 2:10-14

Styrofoam Recycling
Christmas is just a few days away. Perhaps you will receive something this year packed in Styrofoam. Although Styrofoam is an extremely useful product, it is incredibly harmful to our environment. Though most Styrofoam isn’t recycled, packaging Styrofoam is. The Environmental Concerns Committee will be collecting packaging Styrofoam (though not the “peanuts”) on the weekend of December 28th /29th. We will have bins set up and marked back behind the cafeteria near the dumpsters. Just bring any packaging Styrofoam you have with you to church that weekend and put it in one of the bins. We will see that it gets recycled properly. Remember, you do make a difference, please make it a positive one! Environmental Ernie
Holiday Lights Recycling
The Environmental Concerns Committee will be collecting holiday lights the weekends of January 4th /5th and 11th /12th. As you undecorate from the holidays and find that you have lights that are broken, that don’t work, or only partly work, just bring them with you to church and we’ll take it from there.
Electronics Recycling
Christmas is almost here. Santa will soon be coming down the chimney (if you’ve been good), bringing lots of new things. Maybe you’ll get some new electronic devices this year. Wonderful! But what do you do with the old ones? That’s where our friends at Greenway Shredding and Recycling come in. You can take all your old electronics (and batteries too) to them at 2318 Watterson Trail in J-town and they will gladly recycle those devices for free. It’s a win-win, both for you and the environment. Of course, you can recycle electronics there any time of the year. I’m sure you will enjoy your new electronics even more knowing you’ve disposed of your old ones responsibly. Remember, you do make a difference, please make it a positive one! Thanks, Environmental Ernie

Jesus was born during the night of the year when darkness is the longest. The Savior of the world comes for the people in dark places. The real, lasting, and deep joy is that the Light shines there.
Through your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, “Light” has shown, bringing real, lasting and deep joy to the hearts of the poor who live in dark places in our streets and neighborhood. Thanks for your generous support this past year!

A pictorial directory is a powerful tool in our church to help each of us know each other better. Our last directory is now out-dated and it is time for a new one. We want everyone to get a new picture made so that our new directory will be complete. IT WON’T BE COMPLETE WITHOUT YOU! Your participation will help the church and yourself. Every family photographed for the directory will receive a copy of the directory and an 8x10 portrait at no cost. So please, save the date!
