1. Can the consumption of meat be morally justified?

There are lots of reasons to justify eating meat in a world where predator always takes on preys . As for me, we can always find reasons to justify our deeds.

To explain it in details,

FIRST all of us have the right to live and that includes animals that have their own fair share in this world. However, in a predator-prey situation, the predator who’s the stronger one always take on the prey who’s weaker, and this is always been the case in almost every situation. To justify this act, it is more on survival of the fittest. One who’s not fit will less likely to survive and will be eaten. This is a natural phenomenon.

SECONDLY, man being the most intelligent species in this world has been given lots of ways to survive. And it is man’s prerogative to eat whatever they want to eat. Some people eat vegetables for good reasons, while, admittedly I eat meat for pleasure eating and maybe it’s the same reason for meat eaters/lovers.

To sum it all, eating meat can be simply justified by our needs and our wants to eat. I hope though that all must be put into moderation for health reasons. (202 words)

3.Can the efforts of individuals change society for the better?

Individual efforts greatly influence others, so I strongly believe that a person’s effort is big start towards the improvement of our society. Let me discuss it further.

Firstly, an individual effort causes rippling effect wherein a good deed is being passed on to others, and then to another and so on, that deed will spread out to people. This is illustrated in a Thai advertisement I once watched. A doctor helped a poor crippled boy to walk for free. Then he gave him a note saying, WHEN TIME COMES, pass on this good deed to others, and give them a note like this. This action can form a habit.

SECONDLY, an individual’s effort can play a significant role in influencing others. Let’s take a look at the role of a mother in a household for an instance. Everything starts basically at home. Who we are, our beliefs, cultures, our personalities are honed at home. As a mother, teaching your kids of right conduct, letting them see the good and bad sides of the world with proper guidance is already a huge step in changing our society for the better.

To sum it up, I believe each person’s good action can transform our society to become even more better. So I hope that each one of us continues our good deed to have a better place to live in. (228 words)
