The 1st draft

The 1st draft of our level check test as of Nov 25th.

Gina, please update followings. ( you can develop this contents as you want). I roughly include my idea also but you don't need to follow it. As long as it satisfy the criteria, it's ok.

Test 0 (5 min)

Ice breaker, get information about the student( background information such as: age,the place they are living,job,interests..etc.)

Goal & Output: get the sense of rough estimation on student proficiency level.

Test 1 (5 min)

1) Let the student do 2 min speech on "What is the goal to study English and taking classes at Value English"

2) Ask questions (3 min) if the student didn't clarify what, by when, why studying, how much (budget)

If the student's level is beginner, may be just start from Q&A.(Simple Questions will do if the student's level is beginner)

a.) Current issues and events are interesting topics that can arouse student's ideas.( Ask the student about the recent news he/she have watched/heard and let the student talk about it,After giving details, ask her/his opinions regarding the issue.)

Goal & Output: Get general impression on fluency, Delivery, Comprehension. Guess which class suit for the student

Test 2 (8 min)

Speech for high level student (you might want to use Eiken 1st grade test)

Picture description (you might want to use Pre-1st grade)

Simple Q&A session or simple picture description for beginner student.( Simple picture descriptions are okay as long as it is news related. e.g. Barack Obama and John McCain pictures, objects of interest in Japan...etc.)

Test 3 (7 min)

Feedback to the student

( I add some ideas to this draft. If it's possible,we need to provide materials like real objects to feed student's comprehension.)-
