Do you think celebrities and entertainers can make good politicians?
[Introduction]
Celebrities and politicians are both famous but I think being a good politician sets another standard.
[Body]
Nowadays, there have been a large number of celebrities turning politicians in our country. This has been a strategy for some political parties. Since a celebrity is popular, it’s easier to remember their(his/her?) name. We are entertaining these beginners because we don’t trust ordinary politicians anymore. It is because of the fact that there are so many scandals around a politician. While on the other hand, celebrities offer a new style of governing and we feel closer to them because we are used in seeing them in television. Yet, we must remember that being a celebrity and being a politician are two different things. It doesn’t mean that if you are a good actor it means that you are a good leader. We might put too much expectation to them and end up being frustrated by them.
[Conclusion]
It is their willingness to serve the people that make them a good politicians and not the popularity we give. People who wish to lead must know how to serve. That is how a true leader rises, because a great leader serves the people with a smile.

Is the extensive media coverage of environmental problems having any effect?
The media is one of the best mediums to inform people about things that matter like changes in the environment and to encourage the public to generate actions, thus, media coverage brings forth irrefutably beneficial effects.
Foremost, with extensive media coverage people get concrete news of what’s happening as they happen. Being updated with the most current event would help prepare people for whatever it could bring their way. For instance, in many parts of the world, flooding has been quite rampant. In fact, many have been reported dead or missing because people were caught off guard. Through this encompassing media coverage, people will be aware and would know what to do.
In addition, this awareness will bring about positive reactions. As people learn more about the environment and the negative changes Mother Nature has been portraying, actions will be made to address the environmental issues. In an article I’ve read, many localities have implemented stricter rules on garbage disposals and cutting down of trees and as a result of their more educated views, the people in that localities were actively participating in the implementation of these rules.
Environmental problems such as climate change pose great threats to humanity. Addressing these problems will never be easy, however, through awareness and education that the media contribute it would seem that the threat would be contained and worsening of the situation be minimized.

Is building more roads the solution to Japan’s growing traffic problems?
[Introduction]
I do think that building more roads will just make everything worse. It will just make more cars out in the roads.
[Body]
If we are to build more roads, it means we have to sacrifice more land to place the new roads and more funds to put on this project. We also have to bear with the growing air pollution. Japan has very limited source of land so we must conserve it. If we really want to solve not just the traffic but also the growing source of air pollution, we should think of something that will both benefit people and nature. A massive campaign promoting new fast ways for transportation will also help. We could also make rules that will lessen the cars on the road on a certain percentage everyday. This way, we could also increase the production of work. The lesser time we use for transportation, more work will be done within a day.
[Conclusion]
But this idea will need a lot of help from everyone. We must remember that everyone’s effort will make a big difference to all. We must take part of the act if we really want to solve these traffic problems that we have.

Does Japan pay enough attention to domestic issues like the homeless?
[Introduction]
In my own opinion, our government pays very little attention in these domestic issues. That is the reason why the number of homeless people is enormously growing fast.
[Body]
If you will look in some public parks in the cities, especially in Tokyo and Osaka, you will actually find yourself walking in a shantytown. It is sad to hear that the government seems to have no care for these people and ignore them as if they do not exist. They don’t have enough budgets to build new emergency shelters. They don’t even have enough programs to put them in a more decent place. It’s as if they are not part of the community and sees them as no one. They don’t even talk about it, if this problem doesn’t exist at all.
[Conclusion]
These people are part of our community and needs as much attention as we do. The pride of the country is not by ignoring our own people and showing off to other countries. It is how we help one another and rise as a country. We are not called a country because we have a government. We have a government because we have people who need to be served.

Do modern societies spend too much money on pets?
[Introduction]
I believe that having a pet is like having a friend. So pampering my friend with some haircut and shampoo once in a while is just to show my appreciation that he is with me.
[Body]
Having a pet has a lot of responsibility. From the food, to proper hygiene and good manners, is needed to be considered. Pets are like a cute friend that is loyal to you. They also give you relief and take your stress away from your system. They can even help you forget your problems. They are even fun to be with. That is why I believe that some luxury once in a while just serves as a reward for them, for their hard work and loyalty. It is also one way of being closer to your pet because it means that he is appreciated by you.
[Conclusion]
I am happy to know that more and more stores are opening for pets. It just simply means that more people are starting to love pets. It just simply means that we are starting to love pets even more. That is why treating my pet is even more fun than before it’s a treat worth giving to my friend.
