Stan went in for his hip replacement operation this morning. I went with Sylvia to see him this evening. He was still a bit groggy from the anaesthetic, but we’ve been assured that everything went very well and he’ll soon be back on his feet. They say that he’ll probably come home on Friday. We tried to persuade them to come and stay with us – or else to let one of us go and stay with them to help fetch and carry and stuff, but they’re quite sure they can manage. Elderly relatives! I ask you!
