It's Abigail's third birthday today. We had a breakfast-time Zoom meeting with them, in which we watched her opening her presents. They included a bicycle from us, which Eddie's promised she can try out in the park as part of their daily exercise. We'll be Zooming in again at tea-time to watch her blowing uot her candles. Peter made the cake and left it out on our doorstep for Eddie to collect without comnig into contact with any of us. He and Crystal have been too busy with work (her shifts have been increased at the hospital) and childcare to make one this year.
We're still waiting to hear what the relaxation of the stay-at-home rule will mean in practice. Let's hope people don't all get carried away over the weekend with VE-Day street parties and trips to the countryside, which could either make the government reain in on even obviously sensible changes or worse, set off a second wave of infection.
