We're back from an exhausting day down in Kent. The hospital called during the night to say that Jonah's mum had suffered a serious stroke and was unlikely to make it to the morning. Sarah went off right away, since we knew that it would take some time to get Jonah up and ready to go. We arrived just in time for her last moments, which seemed peaceful enough. Jonah was pleased to have been there, although it's unlikely that she was aware of it. after breakfast in the hospital canteen, we went back to Sarah's house while she sorted out the formalities and then came back to join us. She's happy to take charge of organising the funeral and everything, so we came back straight after lunch. The journey was a bit of a nghtmare with a lot of traffic on the roads and the weather rather wet and windy. But heyho! It could've been far worse in January!
