Not such a nice Christmas present! Lucy has heard that she's been rejected by Oxford to study Medicine. They've offered her a place to do Biochemistry (a common booby prize for failed medics) but that's not what she wants and it isn't at her preferred college either. She's putting a brave face on it and saying that she can use the experience to help her with her next interview, which wil most likely be at Liverpool in hte New Year.
Mike Carson got very indignant when her heard and threatened to talk to his colleague, the pathology fellow who interviewed Lucy, and tell him he's making a big mistake; but we persuaded him that it wouldn;t be in Lucy's interest to go to a college where the tutor had had his arm twisted to take her.
