This week Boris announced that single people can form a "support bubble" with another family to allow social interaction as if they lived in the same household.
We didn't think it was relevant to us, because we are a household of three and none of our nearest and earest are in single-person households either. But, to our surprise, Father Damien rang this morning to ask if we would consider forming a bubble with him! He says he's been missing the cut-and-thrust of debating doctrine with Jonah and the support of Peter's down-to-earth good sense. (And he seems to be prepared to put up with me in order to get access to them!) It must be a lonely life being a priest and being the person that everyone else relies on for advice and sympathy. I suppose he's really chosen us because we don't hold him in the sort of almost god-like esteem that many of his parishioners do!
