TTiers upon tiers! After only three days, Boris has been forced to admit that things are (even) worse than he thought on Wednesday. Most of London and the South East has been moved from Tier 3 into a new, mor draconian, Tier 4. Those parts of Kent that were moaning about unfair treatment when they were put into Tier 3 at the end of the November lockdown are looking pretty silly now as infections increase rapidly (and exponentially, but the two things are different!) Bizarrely, communal worship is still being allowed even in Tier 4. I can only assume that such a small proportion of the population attends that its impact is presumed to be small even though it is clearly a risky thing to do - especially communion services. Either that or the government has been got-at by the bishops! He's still trying t be Churchillian and talking as if this was a war: "When the virus changes its method of attack, we must change our method of defence."
The good news is that Liverpool's trip to Crystal Palace resulted in a 7-nil defeat for Palace, so Liverpool are still up there at the top of the table. Everton also won their home match against Arsenal, so the Premier League is becoming increasingly a Merseyside tussle at the top!
