12.9 Rezumat și referințe

Diverse tehnici de sudare solid-state au fost descrise concis în acest capitol. Este evident că aplicarea acestor procedee a cunoscut o expansiune semnificativă în ultimele decenii datorită diverselor avantaje ale acestora, cum ar fi lipsa defectelor de solidificare; nu sunt necesare metale de umplutură, flux sau gaz de protecție; și capacitatea de a îmbina materiale diferite față de sudarea prin fuziune. Digitalizarea producției în timpul celei de-a treia revoluții industriale aflate în desfășurare va continua să faciliteze încorporarea acestora în liniile de producție atomizate. În același timp, trebuie depuse mai multe eforturi în cercetarea și dezvoltarea SSW pentru a îmbunătăți în continuare echipamentul și procesul de sudare, în special odată cu apariția de noi materiale avansate. Mai exact, sudarea prin frecare (cu agitare), lipirea prin difuzie, sudarea prin rezistență, și sudarea cu ultrasunete își vor extinde foarte mult domeniile de aplicare în următoarele decenii. Sudarea la rece, sudarea forjată și sudarea prin explozie vor continua să joace roluri importante în domeniile lor specifice, deși unele dintre ele pot suferi fie probleme economice, fie de mediu.
