Jason Charles Weaver was born in Nottingham on February 9, 1972: he was, however. brought up in Portskewett, South Wales after his family moved there when he was six months old.
He was apprenticed to Luca Cumani and rode his first winner, True Dividend, at Brighton on May 30, 1990.
He was runner up to Frankie Dettori in 1994 with 200 winners, thus becoming the only jockey to ride a double century without also becoming champion.
Weight problems forced him to retire in 2002 and he found work on a racing TV channel.
His father played football for Notts County, Northampton Town & Swindon.
Jason rode one classic winner: Mister Baileys in the 1994 2,000 Guineas
