Thomas Carr was both jockey & trainer to Fyldener, winner of the 15-runner 1806 St Leger.
He sent out horses from his Hazel Slade Stables at Cannock Chase near Hednesford.
On November 25, 1799, he married the sister of trainer William Saunders.
His son, Thomas, also a jockey & trainer, died, aged 42, on January 23, 1849. He never married.
Following a lingering illness, Thomas Carr died at Hednesford on Tuesday, January 17, 1815, aged 40.
