Anthony Stewart Tory was born on December 22, 1966, and rode his first winner, Kilton Jim, at Fontwell on May 5, 1986.Tony is the son of top Wimborne amateur Michael Tory and, unlike his father, he turned professional.
He retired after breaking a rib when Medina's Swan Song fell at Cheltenham on April 17, 1996.
Tony, who stood at 5ft 10ins., rode a total of 151 winners including Docklands Express in the 1991 Whitbread and Cool Ground in the 1989 Kim Muir.
