Brogan, Peter

Peter Joseph Michael Brogan, born on August 13, 1951, was the younger brother of Barry Brogan and started out riding as an amateur.He is probably best remembered for his partnership with Avondhu. He also struck up a successful partnership with Stay Bell which won the Greenhall Whitley Hurdle and Billy Bow Hurdle.

Peter, who had a twin sister, rode his first winner, Tarik, at Kelso on December 16, 1969.

He rode a total of 59 winners.

Peter had a major drink problem which caught up with him in October, 1997. He died in London.
