Andrew Hall Moralee was born in Lanchester on November 8, 1916, and was champion amateur four times : 1952-53, 53-54, 54-55 & 55-56 (jointly, with Bob McCreery).
Known as Danny, he was a member of a farming family from Alnwick, Northumberland.
He was warned-off in July, 1964 after the running of one of his horses trained by Jack Fawcus.
Danny died at Newcastle-upon-Tyne on September 2, 2004, leaving £242,052 net.
He biggest wins were Happymint (1954 Cheltenham Foxhunters'), Happymint (1955 Liverpool Foxhunters') and Gigolo (1953 Eider).
