Broadway, Richard

Richard Broadway was born on March 27, 1934, and lived at 1a, The Green, Marlborough. Wilts.

He once nominated his ride on Noholme, when together they beat Sir Ken, as the highlight of his career (left).

Noholme was also the first horse on which he won - at Bath in 1953.

He served his apprenticeship with Stanley Wootton between 1949 - 54.

Richard rode twelve winners in the 1959-60 season.

When not riding, Richard enjoyed boxing, football, cricket & tennis.

The biggest race he won was the Friary Meux Treble Gold Cup in 1965 on Bronzino.
