Christopher Douglas Collins was born at Hatfield on January 19, 1940, and rode his first winner, Lansallos, at Nottingham on October 29, 1963.
He was champion amateur twice: 1965-66 (24 wins) & 1966-67 (33 wins).
Chris was the managing director of Goya Ltd and also an International three-day Event rider.
He was third in the 1965 Grand National on Mr Jones.
Chris took a bad fall at Cheltenham on April 30, 1975. He promptly retired from the saddle.
His biggest wins included the 1972 Cheltenham & Liverpool Foxhunters' on Credit Call and the 1973 Pardubice Chase on Stephen's Society.
Chris was educated at Eton.
