Rene Emery was born in Bordeaux and came to England in 1949.He finished runner-up in the 1953-54 season to Dick Francis.
He won the 1953 Mildmay Memorial Chase on Whispering Steel and the Imperial Cup (twice) on Mister Bidair (1951) and Camugliano (1957).
He found little success later as a trainer.
