Dale Richard Gibson was born in Yorkshire on April 25, 1968 and aged 16, was apprenticed to Lord Huntingdon.His first winner was Granny's Bank at Pontefract on October 14, 1985.
Dale, who was 5ft 8ins in height, came from a racing family: his grandfather was head lad to William-Hastings Bass (Lord Huntingdon).
Dale won the 1989 Stewards' Cup (Very Adjacent) and the 2002 William Hill Trophy (Artie).
