2002 19th April Annual General Meeting
Congratulations were in order for the Nairn rink who had recently won the Scottish Rinks Championship for 20012002. Nairn, the only North rink to have won this trophy, have now won it for a second time. The previous occasion was in 1974, when skip Ali Asher's father played third for Eric Brown.
The trophy does not have a carrying case, so the Club agreed to provide one, and this task was delegated to the capable hands of Stewart Baird.
Alex Webster was elected President, and Michael Green Vice-president.
The treasurer reported a surplus of £578 for the year.
Mike McInnes has won the Ardclach Bonspiel. The area 10 Bonspiel for the Bookless Quaich was won by John Anderson, Bob Pottie, George Pirie and Nichol Bathgate.
The Club was looking into creating a web-site in order to improve communication with the membership.
2002 9th June. Special General Meeting
The owner of the Inverness Ice rink was puting the premises up for sale and had offered the users an opportunity to purchase it. Gregor Munro had taken the initiative, and outlined the developments and funding proposals. The building would be owned by the curlers, skaters and ice-hockey players, and in general the membership were in favour of supporting the venture. The question of the Club taking out a debenture would be put to the September General Meeting.
2002 9th September General Meeting
Curling for the coming season was organised. The meeting approved a proposal to purchase on behalf of the Club a debenture for £2000 to assist with the purchase of the Inverness Ice Rink. Many individual members were also supporting the venture financially.
The 2003 Dinner & Court would be held in a new venue, the Newton Hotel, on Saturday February 8th.
