On Saturday last Mr J S Robertson, Constabulary Gardens, on behalf of the Auldearn Curling Club, handed over a handsome china cabinet to Mr Mackintosh who has acted as treasurer, and as one of the Club's skips for a number of years with an expression of the best wishes of his brother curlers.

The Nairn Club's Points competition for the Whitelaw Kettle was won by J Lamb (a local solicitor).
27th January 1914
The Nairnshire Curling Association's annual bonspiel was held at Achnatone under idyllic conditions and had George Bain, editor of the Telegraph, waxing lyrical in his prose. However, can any present Ardclach curlers provide a translation for "A wee bit soo back" ?
The Nairnshire Telegraph also reported: " A contest among Ardclach Curlers took place on Friday with a points game for the Hope Cup, which was won by D Macarthur, Fleenas, with the creditable score of 31 points. This is the second time in succession that Mr Macarthur has won the cup. The runners up were:- D Rose, Crook, with 21 points; Taylor, Fortnighty, 20; and Shaw, Littlemill, 20.
At the Ardclach pond on Saturday a friendly match took place between the Nairn Club and Ardclach Parish, 4 rinks a side, when Ardclach won by 21 points."
3rd November 1914
The outbreak of "The Great War" in August 1914 brought change to everyone. Support of the war effort was the main focus. Sadly, too many curlers were to have played their last game.
Auldearn Curling Club contributed to The Prince of Wales Fund For National Distress which was was set up to support wives and dependants of soldiers plus those unemployed due to the war.
