W A Peterkin, Nairn, is mentioned as a Vice President of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club in the year 1876-77. He was prominent in Edinburgh curling circles, and his obituary appears in the 1907 RCCC Annual.
His association with Nairn was residential. He lived in the town whilst carrying out his duties as an official for The Board of Supervision for The Northern Counties of Scotland.
Nairn would not hold happy memories for W.A.Peterkin, as a five year old daughter (Lina) died there on 26th December 1869, and is interred in Nairn cemetery.
His name appears in the Annual as a member of Caberfeidh Club (Conon Bridge), for whom he was a representative to the RCCC., and also as an occasional member of Banks of Findhorn Club (1882-85).
